Groupon Asks Tony Hand, CEO of The Golf Swing Company, about the roots of his golf obsession, and his ideal opponent.

G: What made you want to coach?

"I played golf competitively for over 40 years. The sport has brought so many happy memories, lasting friendships and trophies. I'm stillpassionate about the game, and am delighted at the chance to give something back: whether helping absolute beginners hit the ball for the first time; or providing a mental tip to a player to transform their perspective."

G: What do beginners tend to find hardest to pick up?

"Letting go and trusting their natural talent."

G: In terms of becoming proficient, is natural talent essential or can it all come from hard work?

"Bit of both. Golf is like a house: build it on strong foundations and it will stand up to all weathers; but build it on sand and it will collapse at the slightest breeze. I help ingrain strong fundamentals by using video cameras, which help pupils "see" their progress, boost their conference and speed up the learning process."

G: If you could play a round of golf with one famous person, who would it be and why?

"Tom Watson.A true gentlemen of the sport, yet a steely competitor too."
