With play available from 8.30am to 6pm any day of the week, golfers can test power off the tees and the accuracy of their approach play as they tackle the course's 18 tricky holes. Along the way, they can take in some beautiful views, with the Firth of Forth and Bass Rock visible from the greens. Back in the clubhouse, visitors will be able to discuss the day's best shots and refuel with a hearty soup and roll combo.
Established in 1895, Torphin Hill Golf Club is home to a challenging par-68 course that is a fair mix of three- and four-par holes with a couple of lengthy par fives thrown in for good measure. From the 15th tee of the course, which is higher than Arthur's Seat, golfers have a panoramic view of the surrounding sights, which include Ben Lomond. The club is active in promoting the ancient game, encouraging junior members to participate in free coaching weeks during Easter and the summer school holidays.
