Golfers can put their game to the test by playing a round on Leeds Golf Centre’s 18-hole Wike Ridge course (usually £25). Before or after the round, players can hone their swing by driving 50 balls each on the centre’s 15-bay, covered range (£3.50). Play is available seven days a week and visitors may opt to tuck into a bacon or sausage sandwich for an extra £2 or hire a buggy for £15.

The MerchantThe Wike Ridge course at Leeds Golf Centre was designed by former golfer and noted course architect Donald Steel. The sloping layout is peppered with bunkers, 1,400 trees, lakes and other water hazards. The centre is also home to the 12-hole, par-three Oaks course and a 15-bay, floodlit driving range. Resident tutors coach players of all abilities while further facilities include a pro shop and Nineteen Bar and Grill.
